what time is it?

Cap de Creus

Carles Fages de Climent:
Somni de Cap de Creus

Oració al Crist de la Tramuntana
Braços en creu, damunt la pia fusta
Senyor, empareu la closa i el sembrat
Doneu el verd exacte al nostre prat
i mesureu la tramuntana justa
Que aixugui l'herba, i no ens espolsi el blat

The Cap de Creus, is a steep and rocky promontory of 67.2 m which rises above the Mediterranean Sea in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula. It's located in the region of the province of Girona, Alt Empordà in Catalonia, in north of the Golf de Roses. Is the easternmost point of the Iberian peninsula. It is subject to wave action, caused primarily by the Tramuntana (the name given to a cold wind that blows from the north and west) and east winds. The rocks are eroded by water and wind. Directional markings are taxed by the wind over the years.

For a long time I wasn't going to Cap de Creus and Saturday I went with a friend to walk through this landscape so splendid. I was surprised by the immensity of the sea that we can see from the top of the rock.
I felt how tiny and insignificant human is. It is his life even more ephemeral than a rock, but more survival than a flower. Rocks are there since many time ago, but the life of a man is shorter.
Me with my friend, we realized the insignificance of it, of human life and the little importance that the man gives to the plants. Plants are living entities that born, grow, reproduce and die. Why can not we also think that they feel? They suffer with the rain, wind, water ... There are being eroded by all these natural factors.

The strength of the Cap de Creus area as artistic or literary art has been a source of inspiration for writers and artists. The Great Masturbator, from Salvador Dalí is based, apparently, in a rock cove Cullaré. In its extensive poetry "Somni de Cap de Creus" ( 'Dream of Cap de Creus), the poet Carles Fages de Climent, published posthumously (2003), recreates the diffuse transition from paganism to Christianity in the Greco Empordà that builds on the foundations of churches the ancient pagan temples.

The area is dotted with remnants of various dolmens. During antiquity the Rhodians founded Roses near the isthmus. Further north and in the Cap de Creus, is situated Cadaqués is , and further north is at the end of the cape, Port de la Selva.

Now I translate the poem of Carles Fages de Climent:
Arms cross over the wooden,
God, empain the pale and the seeding,

give us the exact green to our prayer,

and measure the fair tramuntana

that dry the grass, but not sprinkle the wheat

words I've learnt:
sprinkle: espolsar
fair: just
a pale: una closa
seeding: sembrat
ephemeral: efímer

Have you shown your work to your English family ?
have they seen how you've improved ?
I remember your first compositions , I couldn't understand at all, so many words together, with no punctuation marks...!!
Thank you for being so faithful!!
Good luck
